Thank you so much for the fantastic day at the Wojtyla House (open letter to József Farkas P.)
Only as a contributor do I some little things for the Wojtyla family on the homesite of the the House sometimes, and today I was honoured as Mr József Farkas P. invited me after our talk about work to the performance of the guest of the house, András Berecz, the singer and story teller. I set to the supported poor people of the house with my son thinking that at last I will learn what the life in the house in reality like is, and not only reading about it on the homesite. The room was totally filled with the audience that consisted of the supported poor people of the house. It was my very first meeting with András Berecz, and I have not known him before even from the media. He will always remain my ”experience from the Wojtyla house”. As this was it to see and listen to him, a real experience. In this man who is in his sixtieth year, there are the scent of the mountains of Transilvania, the atmosphere of the trams of Budapest, the sence of humour of his mother and the the tasty story telling style of the old men of the villages wearing traditional boots. He made me laugh so much that I laughed my head off, and when I succeeded with stopping laughing I even found a teardrop in my eyes. András Berecz told the audience that he liked people who were able to laugh and have a positive attitude even after surviving the deepest misery. I like this attitude very much. We need such people in life, in this difficult life that is spiced with problems, sadness, illnesses, poverty. And they are needed everywhere, not only by the poor of the Wojtyla House whose guest I was today. I want to thank József Farkas P. for giving us such a great day with my son. I was curious about one more thing, and it was what kind of lunch the poor get. What can its taste be like? As we were invited to lunch as well, I was able to try it. I must say that it was very tasty. I think with gratitude of Attila Mezei, the cook of the Wojtyla house. József Farkas P. is a master of choosing the right people into his team. I am also grateful to the Lyon’s Club that gave lunch to the poor of the Wojtyla house, and also to us with my son today. Anikó Bende
